AFTER 15 YEARS ASPHALT OVERLAY PLANNED FOR THUNDERHILL PARK
Willows, CA . . . . The summer of 2008 will see a complete asphalt overlay of the 3-mile, fifteen-turn road course known worldwide as Thunderhill Park. The well constructed race track featuring 2.5 inches of AR8000 asphalt mix with modified oil percentages and rock fracture formulas will gain two inches of new modern polymer enhanced asphalt surface.
This process will add both endurance as well as smoothness to the racing surface making for a better ride for all who speed around the undulating, and challenging course. “Perhaps the greatest benefit most racers will feel when the overlay is complete will be the smoothing out of various bumps and ridges worn into the surface overtime” noted Track President & CEO David Vodden. “We have met with key race track experts who have been involved with successful overlaying projects in recent years to insure a successful result”, added Vodden.
The Thunderhill project has also benefited from recent mistakes made in the overlay of Laguna Seca Raceway as well as Topeka Raceway in Kansas. Paving is an art and like with good food it takes not only a good recipe but a good chef as well.
The overlaying process at Thunderhill Park will commence in July of 2008 and take about two weeks. Scheduling for the track, which is already underway, will reflect this closure.

DRIFTING, THE ART OF MAINTAINING YOUR CAR IN A CONTROLLED POWERSLIDE USING THROTTLE, IS ON THE SCHEDULE AT THUNDERHILL PARK.
The daytime events use a special skid pad area to let experienced and novice drivers try their luck at the difficult task. For fees as low as $100 for the day coaching and rides are available as part of the learning process but mostly the whole experience is just fun with a capital A for awesome.

WANT TRACK TIME? WANT TO MAKE MONEY IN THE SPORT OF MOTORSPORTS?
If you answered yes then listen to this. At Thunderhill Park we can make both of these things happen for you by helping you create a “day at the track” for you and your friends. We do it all. We staff the event. We provide the insurance. We provide the medical standby and we execute the event with our highly trained staff. WHAT DO YOU DO? You recruit the participants be they riders or drivers and you set the schedule, collect the $ and determine what you are going to charge. That’s it!
If you get 30 friends who are also riders or adrenalin junkies to pay $250 each for a day at a track event, you gross $7,500.
