Mark it down now folks, May 15–17, 2026. Thunderhill Raceway Park is turning into a full-blown grassroots motorsports festival — and you’re invited.
This isn’t just another track weekend. It’s a mix of everything we love: heat-race battles, proper drift competition, live music, food, and evenings that actually deliver. It’s the community, the energy, and the chaos that make racing fun — just turned up a notch.
And because it’s Thunderhill, we’re adding our own twist — green jackets, tongue-in-cheek judging, and trophy ceremonies that feel half Augusta, half motorsport.
As Matt Busby, Thunderhill’s CEO, puts it: “We’re doing this our way — three days of racing, drifting, music, and motorsport culture. It’s got some Augusta and a little Caddyshack in its DNA, but it’s all throttle and no pretense. The Thunderhill Open is 100% Thunderhill.”
Matt Field from Drift Cave adds: “The drift side of the Thunderhill Open is simple — a fun, exciting layout, competition battles, and excitement you can feel from the fence. Drift Cave’s bringing foot-to-the-floor, door-to-door energy to Thunderhill.”
